iSpeakATL & Language Access
Mayor Andre Dickens is committed to ensuring that no person is excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or subjected to discrimination in the receipt of any City services on the basis of race, ethnicity, country of origin, or language.
 
The Language Access Plan, known as iSpeakATL, offers free, timely, and efficient language services to the City’s Limited English Proficient (LEP) population. Constituents will be able to receive excellent service in all City buildings and offices, no matter what language they speak.

Requesting Interpretation Services

City-Wide Interpretation Services

All City of Atlanta departments can now provide interpretation services through iSpeakATL. Remember to always speak clearly, in plain English, and avoid any jargons and abbreviations.

Cross-cultural communication is paramount in understanding cultural differences. Follow this general advice and tips on how to best avoid cultural misunderstandings

Point to Your Language for Interpretation

Use the document below if you are unable to determine the language    the constituent is speaking, or if you need assistance determining the language they need assistance in. 

“One Moment Please” in Common Languages

Once you determine the language and connect with the in-language service provider, use the document below to notify the constituent that you are working on connecting them with an interpreter.
