Naturalization Ceremony 2022

In celebration of Welcoming Week 2022 and Citizenship Day, Mayor Andre Dickens joined USCIS in welcoming 47 New US Citizens at Atlanta City Hall during a special Naturalization Ceremony. During the Ceremony, USCIS Atlanta District Director Denise M. Frazier administered the Oath of Allegiance to 47 citizenship candidates, making them officially citizens of the United States. This Ceremony commemorates the conclusion of an immigrant’s journey to citizenship and honors the commitment they have demonstrated. Congratulations to these New Americans and their guests, and thank you for your dedication to participating in democracy!

“Everyone in this room has a story. Your story as US citizens starts today. You are part of the beautiful tapestry that makes our City unique,” stated Executive Director Vanessa Ibarra during her remarks. 27 countries were represented by citizenship candidates at the ceremony.

TPS Legal Clinic

In 2022, our office partnered with Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Atlanta (AAAJ) and the Latino Community Fund to host a free Temporary Protected Status (TPS) Clinic. This clinic assisted eligible immigrants residing in the Metro Atlanta area with free legal assistance, services, and application support.

Eligible participants were able to file TPS applications and Employment Authorization applications, and we were able to save our community members $2,230 in application fees through the help of fee waiver applications and partner fundraising.

Thank you to our partners at Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Atlanta and Latino Community Fund for making these efforts possible.
