SIGNATURE EVENTS
Naturalization Ceremony
Since 2022, the City of Atlanta, USCIS, and MOIIA have hosted a special Naturalization Ceremony at City Hall to commemorate the conclusion of an immigrant’s journey to citizenship and honors the commitment they have demonstrated. Over 100 new invidivuals have become naturalized citizens at Atlanta City Hall, highlighting our vision of a Welcoming City.


Mayor's Iftar and Eid Dinners
Since 2018, our office has partnered with the Islamic Speakers Bureau to host the Annual Mayor’s Ramadan Iftar Dinner. This annual event brings together over 200 interfaith leaders, City officials and employees, and members of the Muslim community to observe the holy month of Ramadan and break bread together over an iftar meal.
In 2024, MOIIA hosted the Mayor's first Eid Reception to commemorate the end of Ramadan.
Mexican Independence Day (El Grito)
The “Grito de Independencia” is the most prominent civic celebration in Mexico. 2024 marked the 214th anniversary of the proclamation of Mexico’s independence and the third time since 2019 that it has been hosted at Atlanta City Hall.


Latinx Pride
In 2023, MOIIA partnered with the Latino Community Fund and the Mayor's Division of LGBTQ+ Affairs to host the first-ever Latinx Pride Reception at Atlanta City Hall.
Cultural Event Celebrations
MOIIA works closely with local organizations to celebrate a range of cultural events, including Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, Immigrant Heritage Month, Caribbean Heritage Month, International Women's Day, Independence Days, and more.
