Report Incidences of Hate

It is important to report occurrences of hate in our communities to work towards creating an environment where our all our citizens feel safe. With your help, we can live in a city where diversity is encouraged, not punished.

A hate incident is when the victim or anyone else believes that an act was motivated by hostility or prejudice based on one of the following things:

  • disability
  • race
  • religion
  • transgender identity
  • sexual orientation.

A hate crime is defined as a “criminal offense against a person or property motivated in whole or in part by an offender’s bias against a race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, ethnicity, gender, or gender identity.”
